Laser Skin Resurfacing in Asheville, NC

At DermaBlue, we brought the best possible technology for laser resurfacing to Asheville using the CORE CO2 fractional laser. Fractional laser resurfacing is the most effective laser treatment available for wrinkle reduction.

Fractional CO2 laser treatment is a safe and effective method of resurfacing where water in the skin is heated by the laser causing controlled injury to the tissue that triggers the growth of new skin cells. It targets not just superficial blemishes but also penetrates deeply to rectify more severe skin imperfections. Patients often see a noticeable improvement in skin tightness and elasticity, alongside a reduction in fine lines and deeper wrinkles over the course of six months.

Fractional CO2 Laser Treatments

Fractional CO2 laser treatment is a better option for those with more pronounced skin concerns. The treatment is particularly effective for addressing deeper wrinkles, scars, and sun damage. Compared to other laser procedures, fractional CO2 laser treatments still offer minimal downtime and long-term results. Most patients can see the full results of their treatment in six months.

eCOToneâ„¢ Laser Treatments

What is eCOToneâ„¢ Laser Resurfacing?

eCO Tone is a gentle, non-invasive laser resurfacing treatment that requires less downtime than traditional CO2 laser resurfacing.

With eCO Tone™, we are able to brighten complexion and rejuvenate skin by using lighter settings on our CO2 laser resurfacing machine. This treatment works wonders for improving the youthful appearance of the skin and reducing scarring and wrinkles. eCO Tone™ treatments also reduce sun damage and stimulate collagen production.

How Does Laser Skin Resurfacing Work?

The Fractional CO2 laser used in resurfacing will remove the outer layer of skin and simultaneously heat the underlying skin. This action works to stimulate the growth of new collagen and the new skin that forms is smoother and firmer.

Laser Skin Resurfacing Treatment Process

The treatment process begins with a consultation with a DermaBlue expert who will assess your skin type, medical history, and personal goals.

Before the procedure, the patient will typically receive a topical anesthetic or numbing cream to minimize discomfort. The laser is then directed at the target area to remove the outer layer of skin, with different types of lasers being used depending on the patient’s needs.

After the procedure, the patient will need to follow certain aftercare instructions, including avoiding sun exposure, keeping the treated area clean, and using topical creams to promote healing. The recovery period can vary depending on the intensity of the laser used, with some patients experiencing redness, peeling, or swelling for several days or weeks following the procedure.

Laser Resurfacing FAQs

What results can I expect from a Fractional CO2 laser treatment?

Patients can expect significant improvements in skin texture, firmness, and appearance. This includes reduction in wrinkles, fine lines, sun damage, and scars. Results vary by individual but are typically long-lasting, especially with proper post-treatment skin care.

Will I need more than one treatment?

It’s possible if you have deep scars and/or deep wrinkles. Also, it depends on your own expectations. You may feel after a few months that you need further improvement. However, your Dermablue provider is the best person to assess how many treatments you might need during your initial consultation.

What is the typical downtime after Fractional CO2 laser treatment?

The typical downtime ranges from 5 to 7 days, during which patients may experience redness, swelling, and a sensation similar to sunburn. Skin may peel during this time, revealing fresher, rejuvenated skin beneath.

How long will results last?

Your skin will continue to age after the treatment. However, to minimize ongoing damage, consult with your DermaBlue provider about preventative measures, for example, good sunscreen, medical-grade topical skin care, and maintenance laser treatments.

You may need to adopt the habit of wearing a hat or engaging in sports earlier in the morning or later in the afternoon, away from the sun’s peak hours. These are practical lifestyle changes that will help you retain your new, healthier skin.

Is laser resurfacing safe?

Fractional treatments are approaching a decade of popularity with physicians and consumers worldwide. Our Fractional CO2 laser is designed with the finest operating features possible to provide you and your provider with the greatest margin of safety during the procedure.

How do Fractional CO2 laser treatments and Clear and Brilliant treatments differ?

Fractional CO2 lasers are the gold standard in laser treatments. Compared to other aesthetic lasers, they are designed to treat more severe skin issues for long-lasting results. Clear and Brilliant treatments are milder but may require maintenance.

eCO Tone is a better alternative to Clear and Brilliant treatments for those who require a more gentle treatment but still desire optimal results.

Is laser facial resurfacing the same as laser resurfacing?

Yes, laser facial resurfacing is the same thing as laser resurfacing, and laser resurfacing is sometimes called a “laser facial”.
