Dr. Richard Levine brings over two decades of clinical experience to DermaBlue—and we couldn’t be more glad he chose to call Western North Carolina home. Born and raised in Toronto, Canada, Dr. Levine completed his honors degree in biology and medical school at the University of Western Ontario, an internship and Internal Medicine residency at the University of Toronto, and his Dermatology residency at McGill University in Montreal.
Before moving to Asheville, Dr. Levine built a rich and comprehensive practice in Colorado spanning general medical dermatology, Mohs skin cancer surgery, and cosmetic and surgical dermatology. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery, reflecting expertise that extends well beyond the skin — into facial surgery, eyelid procedures, and more.
When he’s not in the clinic, Dr. Levine enjoys time with family, cycling Western NC’s mountain roads, and playing tennis. His patients quickly discover that the same precision and care he brings to the operating room shows up in every interaction.

Dr. Levine’s surgical background is unusually broad. He’s a board-certified Mohs surgeon for skin cancer cases, and a Fellow of the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery for aesthetic and reconstructive procedures. That combination means his patients have access to a level of surgical depth that’s rare in a single practice.
Whether the goal is removing a skin cancer with maximum tissue preservation, lifting and tightening the face and neck, or refining the eyes with blepharoplasty — Dr. Levine brings the same exacting standard of care to every procedure.
